Technically speaking...
Preferred files and programmes:
- Our working platform is on Macintosh. Files
of preference are:
Adobe Illustrator, Freehand 11, Adobe In-Design,
ArtPro, Adobe Photoshop, Quark Express.
- PDF - (high res where
applicable)
Resolution
- Resolution is a critical part of
our every day workings.
- Poor quality images do not reproduce well and
cannot be up-sampled. Therfore we require supplied art files
to be at high resolution (300 dpi at same size is the rule-of-thumb)
and as tiff's.
- Jpeg by nature is compression based and subject
to quality loss. At times, jpeg (*.jpg) files are
acceptable provided that the resolution is good.
- PSD (photoshop layered files)
are often required in order to allow for production. Particularly
clipping and trapping of print-ready files .
- Print ready and
high resolution pdf's are aslo used.
- Sherpas, Iris proofs and Chromalins
to be supplied where necessary
- We can accept up to a 5 mb, via e-mail
- File transfer protocol (FTP) files can be accessed subject to
authorisation and supplied passwords etc
